Welkom Winder Services (Pty) Ltd is a specialist in the electrical, mechanical, and mining industries, proudly serving Welkom and clients across southern Africa since 1999. With decades of hands-on experience, we specialize in the supply, maintenance, repair, and upgrading of all types of mine winders, ensuring safe and efficient operations through strict OEM standards.

Our expertise covers a wide spectrum including Level 1 Audits, dynamic brake testing, locked bell audits, NDT and EMT testing, laser alignment, and electrical and mechanical refurbishments. Behind Welkom Winder Services (Pty) Ltd is decades of practical experience in electrical engineering, mine winders, inspection, testing, maintenance and specialised mining services.

Director & Owner

Leon Schoeman

Leon Schoeman brings more than four decades of hands-on experience in the electrical and mining industries to Welkom Winder Services (Pty) Ltd. His career has progressed from Apprentice Electrician and Mine Electrician to specialist Winder Electrician, Senior Winder Inspector and ultimately Director and Owner of Welkom Winder Services.

His extensive practical experience encompasses mine winders and related equipment, electrical systems, specialised inspections, third-party audits, testing, servicing, repairs and technical support across mining operations in several regions of South Africa.

Today, Leon remains actively involved in the technical and operational side of the business, overseeing sales, services, inspections, third-party audits and testing while continuing to serve clients as a Senior Winder Inspector.

Leon resigned from the mine and joined Welkom Winder Services (Pty) Ltd. Through the company he became involved in specialised services and repairs for mining operations across the Goldfields, Gauteng, North West and Northern Cape.
